Standing Strong: An Update on Our Fight Against Counterfeiters & Why Shopping Small Matters This Season

Nov 17, 2025

Update:

One of the questions we hear most often is: “How is the battle against the counterfeiters going?”
It’s an important question, and we want to keep you in the loop because this community has stood by us through every step of it.

Over the past year, we’ve partnered with a dedicated IP enforcement company to help us protect our artwork, our products, and the livelihood of our little family business. Their research uncovered something staggering: over 400 international companies were selling exact copies of our designs, including customer favorites like Honeybee, Monarchana, Believe, and Kitty Kitty.

Our enforcement team assembled the evidence and brought in an attorney who has taken about half of these companies to court. So far, they’ve secured restraining orders on roughly half of the offenders, which means you should start seeing fewer fraudulent listings when you search for our products. When the team reviewed our case, they told us it was the worst they had ever seen, an overwhelming amount of theft from one small business.

The remaining half of the infringers have already been found guilty, and now we’re in the long waiting game of settlements. Whether or not those settlements come through, our priority is simple: getting the fake listings taken down so we can continue creating and selling without having to compete against large corporate bullies profiting from our stolen artwork.

And remember, there are ways to tell a genuine Lemonwood Mini Minder from a counterfeit.
A real Mini Minder will always have:

  • Our logo engraved on the bottom

  • A dust bag

  • A genuine leather strap

If those elements are missing, it’s not one of ours.

This Christmas, More Than Ever: Shop Small

This holiday season is shaping up to be one of the hardest in years for small businesses across the country. Whether it’s lingering shutdown impacts, rising costs, or battles like ours against intellectual property theft, so many independent makers are fighting just to stay afloat.

If you’re able, we encourage you to SHOP SMALL this year.
Support the artisans, family businesses, and makers who pour their hearts into what they create. When you shop small, you’re not just buying a product, you’re helping a dream survive, helping a community thrive, and telling creators like us that the work we do still matters.

Thank you for standing with us, believing in us, and choosing handmade whenever you can.

Your support truly keeps Lemonwood going, and we are endlessly grateful.
